All I want for Christmas......is to come here. Now we are back in Huay Yang for the fourth year in a row!
We are staying at Orchid 6- like last year. This time, however, we are renting Matilda's granddad Ove's house, K28. It is just like all the other "Pha" houses, but with some extra finishing: one guest bathroom and a much bigger porch and entrance way. I appreciate it so much. This means, that "outdoor living room" is as big as the one inside and that we can leave plastic stuff outside that does not immediately turn bad because of the ever-so-heating sun.
Room to play: Lego and Räkna pirater at K28's big porch.
We came in Monday afternoon and spent Tuesday lunch at Mrs Umporn's. They were so happy to welcome us again. It is such a relief that Sten actually eats proper food this year, even if he is his own usual picky self.
Axel happy with his lunch: Chicken and Fries
Wednesday bird-early morning, Mathias left for Koh Tao. I took the kids to the beach once more.
Sten, taking a break down at Mrs Umporn's
Axel bought a new surfing board for his Christmas money from Farmor Ann& Farfar Arnold. We fished out 3 jellyfish from the sea, one big white and 2 small brown that Mrs Umporn said stings a lot. We were told that now with the wind on the beach, many jellyfish had been spotted. Vinegar is said to be it on the stings.
Later on more swimming in the pool and dinner down at the Nishaville beach. Cover acoustic thai troubadour and not so much people. We don't know if there will be a fair this New Year down at Nishaville, but it would sure be fun.
Thursday 17th, it started pouring down at 10 o clock. So OK, no beach today. By 11:30 it had cleared and we went to the pool for one hour, and then to Mr Klea's for lunch. I ordered the best Goong Kratiem in a very long time. I think we need to go back. We kept doing Huay Yang, visiting "Ranchen" to buy Swedish caviar and freshly baked bread, signing up for the Saturday ride to Dahn Singh Kohn and filling gas at that Dang shop. We even had time for a short yoghurt stop at Si shop. Now I stocked up with 12 cans so I think we shall be ok for the next 4 days or so.
We came back to the house to relax some before we went for dinner at Tamarind. The boys love to play in their swing and with the darts and pool table.
