Coconut beach

Today we had a slow start. Sten played fotball with some newly found friends at the hotel, and we just hung around the pool and bungalow. For lunch we headed for Coconut beach, of which we heard from recommendations from the owner of Relax Resort. We were really hungry getting there, but it was sure worth it. It was a fantastic stretch of sand in a bay. Reggae music, bungalows, swings, and other thing to play with were abundant. They hade a volleyball net ( ok height ) and a Mikasa ball.  After lunch, we played volleyball and went down to the very shallow water. The tide was low beach seemed huge. I played a little beach-volley with some Germans that hung around. It was so much fun- very long time ago. Since it was cloudy it was not too hot. It was a fun place to hang, and it seems lots of people just hang out and have fun.The beach is known for surfers, but the waves were not very high. Everyone not satisfied it seemed from this desperate SOS-call. When sun had begun to ...

Adventures at the waterfall - Snorkeling trip to Koh Kam

Yesterday we went to Chong Fa waterfall in Khao Lak. We crossed the Phetkasem road and went up where there sign says "Horse Riding Khao Lak". There were no horses at the ranch as far as we could see, I guess they spend days in the shadows inside. It was a nice ride, to our right there was planted rubber tree forest in gridlike patterns. Nice motorbike trip in a not very crowded neighbourhood. Our rides I figured it would be smart to have the map in the phone instead of on paper. Phetkasem road divides the area and leads all the way to Bangkok. Boys went on a trip up the waterfall. I waited in a shadowy area to relax. They had lots of fun jumping between the falls. Mathias has many pictures on his facebook page. Afterwards we went to a restaurant where they served delicious minced pork with cute decorations. Axel had chicken with cheese. . In the evening we ate from the grilled booths the market. Friday we had booked a whole day snorkelling trip ...

Ayara hotel beach

So awesome going 10 meters from breakfast restaurant down to the Ayara hotel beach.  http://www.ayara-villas.com

White Sands Beach

"Mamma, this is the best beach ever. I love it!"  Axel said. He made an aquarium in the rocks and a fish trap from a plastic bottle. He learned how to do it from the Christmas gift, "Överlevnadshandboken". Fun place to hang around.

In the neighbourhood

Like before, 10 000 game is a good way to spend time before meals and drinks... Figured we need some extra outlets so I brought this extension. Comes in handy! Complimentory fried banana with syrup and chocolate sauce at Lay's. Tired sweeties. Coconut  in the land of coconuts.

Khao Lak

Five times is a handfull

Coming back again this year was different than earlier years, and yet so much the same. Kids are older and I took them with my by myself from Sweden. When we arrived at the house, Mathias was already there. He went from Koh Tao where he spend the previous month getting the divers PADI instructor examination. So now, he can actually teach diving! Guess if the kids were happy to see him after one month of absence? Adding some pics now, I will be writing more later. I went for an afternoon walk on the beach. Looks the same south as always. Beach looks the same north aswell. Mathias Christmas gift: Mastermind. Additional challenge: playing with a five-year-old. Hot pot at Yut's! Why haven't we learned this properly? Immobile Dog at Yut's. Axel said it probably had puppies, and well. Laying like that I guess is the most comfortable with a fat stomach. I arranged for the bike -fixers team to pump up the bikes by our house. Me having been at...

Last week

This is the last week. We have nothing to do but beach and poollife, playing in the sun, eating good food and going for small excursions in the three wheel motorbike (=saleng). We have had ice cream desserts at the Coffe@Train-café. They have some fun magazine, thai and others to browse. I found this medical add there. I don't know what is wrong with this man, can you figure it out? But several pairs of scissors seem to be needed. We have visited former "Good Morning Sang Arun", my absolute favorite place. It used to be the place that God forgotten. Now turned into "Mumsa", by a Hua Hin-Swede who wanted something else than the traffic up there. The bike riksha is still there, as tuk-tuk and the wooden porched restaurant. It has been renewed though, something that was probably not done "single-handed". The new owners had a cat that had found the right spot. My cutie waiting for expensive (200 bath) pizza. We drove on...
